Description
Andrea Pinasco – The Ones With The Tuned Vespas
(Finally, an English language version of this book)
Written by the legendary Andrea Pinasco himself, this book tells the story of Pinasco and the first off-the-shelf tuning kits produced for the Vespa.
At the age of 16, working practically on the street and with few tools, he converted the engine of his Vespa GT 125 into a 150cc twin carburettor. The following year he sold his first kit through an advertisement in Motociclismo magazine.
Ten years later, after expanding the product range, he sold 60,000 kits.
As Andrea explained, “The idea for this book was born from the desire to tell a story that is very close to my heart: it is the story of a uniquely Italian phenomenon, experienced by my generation and those that followed.
It is the story of modified Vespas, with all their curiosities, peculiarities and, finally, their romanticism. But above all, it is the story of its protagonists, the young people of that time – rebellious and unruly, but also resourceful and full of hope, like all young people.”
A hardback book of approximately 80 pages and 31x25cm in size, the story is complemented by period photographs and old Pinasco adverts also published.
If you have a Vespa with upgraded parts of any form, chances are you owe something to Pinasco.
