Modern Lambretta engines often require more cooling than the standard head cowling can cope with, as Sticky found out whilst researching his Spanner’s Kit Book.
We’ve had this product in development and been using it since 2021, but couldn’t get it manufactured… until now.
It’s made from GRP and comes in a choice of black or ‘Lambretta’ cream. Although designed around the Quattrini 210 reedblock, it’ll fit any Lambretta engine that can use a standard head cowling (although you’ll have a gap around where the reedblock would sit).
The design looks very similar to the standard cowl, but the internal airflow and exhaust vent have been increased to allow for greater cooling. The SLUK Cooler also has a reinforced hole for the top fixing.
I’ve been running one on my Quattrini 210 with great results. It reduced the maximum EGT temperature by 31°C.
If necessary, you can trim the cowling to fit around monster reed blocks, etc., but it fits the Quattrini very well.
It also has ‘SLUK’ embossed into it.
We will have a specific cowling for TS1/RT/Standard cylinders in the new year.
